Calling all camping enthusiasts! On Thursday evening July 6, Westside Outdoors will be heading to the popular Golden Ears Provincial Park, Gold Creek Campground for a 3-night stay over the weekend of July 6 – 9, 2017.

REGISTRATION FOR A MAXIMUM OF 12 ATTENDEES IS NOW CLOSED (MAXIMUM CAPACITY REACHED)

Due to the limited number of spots for this vacation, the early bird registration will only be open to those who call Westside their home church or do not attend a church.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Sunday, June 18: Early bird registration deadline
    (Open to Westsiders and those without a home church.)
  • Monday, June 19: Regular registration starts
    (Open to all, including those from other churches.)
  • Friday, June 30: Last day of registration

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

REGISTRATION COST

$65.00 per person

THE REGISTRATION COST INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING

  • BC Provincial Parks Camping Permit
  • Gas money for drivers
  • Fuel for camping stoves
  • Firewood
  • Meals: Dinner on Friday and Saturday
  • Breakfast (camping style): Instant oatmeal, tea, coffee [Fri, Sat, Sun]
  • S’mores!

THE REGISTRATION COST DOES NOT INCLUDE

  • Dinner on Thursday night
  • Lunches and snacks (Please make sure to bring your own.)

CANCELLATION POLICY

No refunds for cancellations will be given after Friday June 30, 2017.

CAMPING DETAILS

WHAT KIND OF CAMPING IS THIS?

Car camping! We’ll enjoy a weekend of luxurious camping with the following amenities:

  • Gold Creek Campground Map
  • Drive-in camping
  • 4 campsites very close to each other
  • Campfires allowed – s’mores anyone?
  • Picnic table at each site
  • Hot Showers!!
  • Flush Toilets :)
  • Running drinking water

ACTIVITIES

Our campsite is right next to Alouette Lake, which includes a beach for swimming. Other activities include:

  • Canoeing (Alouette Lake – South Beach)
  • Cycling (20km of biking trails in the park)
  • Fishing
  • Hiking (Easy to Difficult)

CAMPING TRIP ITINERARY

Thursday

  • 7:00pm: Depart from Vancouver (carpooling with your designated driver)
  • 8:00pm: Arrive at Gold Creek Campground
  • 8:30pm: Pitch Tents, setup camp

Friday

  • 10:00am: Morning devotions
  • Morning and Afternoon: Hiking, swimming, relaxing, reading, etc… vacation
  • 6:00pm: Dinner

Saturday

  • 10:00am: Morning devotions
  • Morning and Afternoon: Hiking, swimming, relaxing, reading, etc… vacation
  • 6:00pm: Dinner

Sunday

  • 9:00am: Morning devotions
  • 9:30am: Pack-up
  • 11:00am: Check out
  • Drive back to Vancouver, or explore more of the park

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING

PERSONAL EQUIPMENT

  • Hiking shoes in good condition
  • Day backpack if you plan on hiking
  • Headlamp / flashlight
  • Water bottle
  • Clothes for 3 days (warm clothes for evenings)
  • Toiletries
  • Sunscreen
  • Bowl, cup and eating utensils
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Food for 2 lunches & snacks, (breakfast as well if you don’t like oatmeal)
  • Rainwear
  • Swimwear & towel
  • Sleeping bag & ground mat
  • Insect repellent
  • Small fold-up camping chair
  • Blow-up floaty for the lake? :)
