Community Group FAQs
Q: What should I expect a CG to look like?
Every community group will have an intentional desire to do life on mission together (discipleship), meaning that every CG will meet weekly to study the Bible, pray, and unpack Sunday’s message, but our hope is that this meeting will just be one of the many occasions your CG does life together.
Q: Do I have to join a CG in my area?
No, you don’t have to join a CG in your area, because again the goal is that you are plugging in to a community of discipleship. However, it is highly encouraged, because doing life and discipleship on mission where you live is much easier than having to drive across the city. For example, getting to know your neighbours with other believers in your neighbourhood or going to the same coffee shops as your community group is a more effective way to impact the city with the gospel.
Q: What if I can’t make it to my neighbourhood’s meeting time? Can I join another one that works best?
Of course. Again, the goal is discipleship; however, we would encourage you to sign up for that closest group and see what could work and if nothing does, then feel free to plug in somewhere that works better.
Q: If I am already in a Community Group do I have to sign-up again?
No, you will already be in that CG on the City and can just continue on. If you want to join a new group, simply let your old leaders know and they can remove you from that group so you can join a different one.
Q: What if I signed up for a CG and haven’t heard back from the Community Group Leader?
The CG leaders will do their best to get back to you as soon as they can. Once they approve your request to join the group, you will see their group under the Groups dropdown on the left side of the City. If you don't hear from them within 2-3 days, you can privately message the leader (search for them on the City and once you are on their profile, click the little speech bubble under their picture).
Q: What if the group is full? How would I know?
Our desire is that everyone is plugged in to a Community Group; however, at times some groups can get too large for the space where they regularly meet. If this is the case and you hear from the leader that the group is full (they will message you on The City), we encourage you to find another group that works and is close to you.
